The Annual PWI Executive Breakfast held in May, at a central Sydney location brings industry leaders to build connection over breakfast.
Starting with a stand-up networking over coffee, we then move in to a seated breakfast featuring a topical and thoughtful keynote address to our industry and a brief panel discussion afterwards. This event is popular with our members and early bookings are recommended to avoid missing out.

The PWI NSW hosts a number of industry events throughout the year, with our signature event being the Annual Convention (typically held in October each year). This event is seen as a great opportunity for all of our members to get together with industry friends and colleagues from all over the State, and spend the day learning, networking, and sharing knowledge. This one-day annual event typically hosts 300+ delegates and is designed to appeal to all levels and parts of the industry – blue and white collar contractors, consultants, suppliers, and operators/maintainers. The Convention Themes are planned to stimulate conversations around relevant industry topics, and the program consists of keynote addresses from notable industry leaders including State Ministers and Executives, presentation papers (technical and non-technical), and panel sessions. The Convention also includes a seated 3-course lunch and a post-convention networking event. For more information, please contact us at info@pwinsw.org.au.
The Annual PWI Awards Night is typically held in February each year, and is a great way to kick off the calendar year. It allows our industry to celebrate the successes of our members through the presentation of several awards that showcase members’ achievements, and recognise their skills and dedication to excellence. The Awards categories are:
• Young Achiever Award;
• Alan Barham Maintenance Award;
• Ken Erickson Innovation Award;
• Welders Award;
• Steve Maxwell Platelaying Award (major, minor and platelaying categories);

Site Visits are organised for the purpose of introducing our members to projects or processes that they may not be privy to in their own role. The goal is that we share knowledge and experiences from passionate people and explore project sites to witness the extraordinary work rail professionals from all disciplines do. From large-scale infrastructure projects to operations and maintenance systems, the site visits are varied and interesting and a must attend in the PWI NSW Calendar.
We are always on the lookout for inspiration for the site visits, so if you have something cool you would like to showcase to a bunch of rail industry professionals, just get in contact with Regina Wootton Regina.Wootton@jhg.com.au to organise a potential visit.
